HELLO. I’m Atom, and you’ve received my Travel Notes, which I send out once a week, every week:
→ On the weeks I travel, I share stories, reflections, and lessons.
→ On the weeks I stay home, I share tips, tools, and templates.
It’s been another hectic week for me. I have a draft prepared about my current trip to Japan, but because of food poisoning I got earlier in my trip, I was not able to complete my post in time for tomorrow.
In its place, let me share with you a poem written by David Wagoner entitled Lost. Through it, may you find beauty, wonder, and peace.
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.
“If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you, you are surely lost. Stand still.“
Until next week,
Atom
